We are very excited to be offering our first season of CSA shares! We grow both Hybrid and heirloom varieties of all standard vegetables and some fruits that can be reliably grown in the Midwest.  Shares will be delivered to our pick up location in Homewood, IL on Tuesday evenings from 4 - 7 pm for 20 weeks, beginning on June 10 and ending on October 21, 2014.

 

We will hopefully be able to offer additional "keeper shares" for pick up after the official CSA has ended.  These shares will include favorite fall and winter storage vegetables such as cabbage, brussel sprouts, potatoes, onions, winter squash, turnips, carrots.  Fresh greens such as spinach, lettuce, kale, collards, etc. may also be available depeding on the weather.

Each weekly share will contain a very nice selection of the freshest fruits and vegetables from our farm. CSA share colors, textures, and flavors will change with the seasons allowing you to experience a wide variety of mostly familiar produce and a few lesser known items. We will include information about unfamiliar vegetables and weekly recipe suggestions for the items in your share.

 

We offer three CSA share sizes to suit your needs.  When you pledge your support for our farm early in the season we show our gratitude by giving CSA customers a 10% discount from our market prices.  Additional products such as farm fresh eggs, grass-fed beef, pastured pork, mushrooms, and fruit may be available also.

 

CSA members are cordially invited to a farm open house and potluck style dinner followed by a hayride and bonfire.  This is a great opportunity to bring your family out to the farm, get to know our animals, and experience the place where your food is grown.  

 

For every 10 Regular Shares purchased this season we will donate one CSA share to a family in need of healthy, nutritious food. When we reach our goal of 30 introductory shares sold we will commit to donating 3 Regular Shares to three local families in need.
